Our story.
Cortland started as an innovation consulting firm, helping Fortune 500 companies like ExxonMobil, Colonial Pipeline, and Georgia Pacific find and evaluate emerging technologies. We were good at it. But in 2025, we recognized that the landscape had fundamentally shifted.
Artificial intelligence wasn’t an emerging technology anymore — it was a production technology. And our industrial clients didn’t need someone to tell them AI was important. They needed someone who could build it for them — someone who understood both the technology and their operations.
So we evolved. We built our stack on Anthropic’s Claude — adopting MCP, agentic workflows, Claude Code, and Cowork as Anthropic released them. We shipped production software across multiple industries to pressure-test our own skills. And we created Cadence — our collaborative delivery platform where managed agents do the heavy lifting and humans make the judgment calls.
